Policy Erasure

A large scale wall installation which displays the changed school policy at Lewis and Clark College. This was displayed in order to inform students about the undisclosed changes in school policy throughout the years 2021-2024. By blacking out all the differences from the 2021 policy to the 2024 policy, it informs students about how much of the policy has been changed without our knowledge.

This display is a visualization of the different ways Lewis & Clark College and institutions in general take advantage of its students. By educating myself about the rules and policies that regulate the community, I am able to move through campus differently. It has informed my other pieces, Banners for Cameras and Veils, as I worked hard to follow every policy set forth about artwork on campus. It shows the importance of observation as a tool in protest and critical thought.
